Position Summary: We are looking for a seasoned Principal Architect with a strong background in residential mixed-use developments to lead the design, coordination, and execution of complex urban projects. This role requires deep expertise in multifamily residential architecture, integrated retail and amenity programming, and a strong grasp of urban design principles. You will lead cross-functional teams, interface with clients and civic stakeholders, and deliver thoughtful, sustainable, and livable community designs. Key Responsibilities: Lead Design Vision: Spearhead the architectural design of mixed-use developments that integrate residential, retail, amenity, and community spaces. Project Management: Oversee all phases of project development, from concept through permitting, documentation, and construction administration. Client & Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, developers, municipalities, and community boards. Team Leadership: Mentor and guide internal design teams, ensuring design excellence and timely delivery. Technical Oversight: Ensure code compliance, constructability, and quality assurance across documentation sets. Collaboration: Coordinate with consultants across disciplines including civil, structural, MEP, landscape, and planning. Sustainability: Champion sustainable and resilient design principles in all aspects of project development. Market Insight: Contribute to strategic planning and business development through market knowledge and thought leadership. Qualifications: Professional degree in Architecture (B.Arch or M.Arch). Registered Architect (RA or equivalent licensure). 12+ years of experience with a significant focus on residential and mixed-use projects. Strong portfolio demonstrating multifamily, podium/tower typologies, and ground-level activation through retail or public use. Skilled in Revit, SketchUp, Rhino, Adobe Creative Suite, and visualization platforms (e.g., Enscape, Lumion). Demonstrated success in urban infill, transit-oriented developments, or affordable housing projects. Exceptional design, leadership, and presentation skills. Preferred: LEED AP, WELL, or similar sustainability credentials. Experience working with planning and zoning agencies in urban jurisdictions. Familiarity with modular housing, passive house design, or adaptive reuse. Bilingual or multicultural experience in global urban markets.
