Fabricator III City Chambersburg State/Territory Pennsylvania Work Schedule ( Job Title: Fabricator Machinist III Department: Engineering Reports To: Fabrication Supervisor Substitute: Fabricator Machinist and/or Fabrication Supervisor FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Summary: The Fabricator Machinist is primarily responsible for preparing, fabricating, machining, welding , assembling, installing, and testing various bakery production equipment and structures . Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned. + Study and interpret assembly instructions, blueprints, and engineering plans + Interpret measurements and verify specifications for assembling equipment + Ensure all parts are fitted and secured properly + Troubleshoot malfunctions and perform repairs as needed + Check stock to ensure inventory is replenished + Work with the engineering and general maintenance department to participate in product development + Build prototypes and test products + Use fabrication and machining equipment and hand tools to form, drill, tap, thread, machine, weld, grind, and polish components and completed assemblies + Proficient in use of various measuring tools and techniques including but not limited to tape measures, squares, levels, calipers and micrometers + Maintains work area in a safe and orderly condition + Performs preventive maintenance and tool changes according to the fabrication equipment manuals and maintenance schedule + Adheres to company safety policies and procedures + Safe operation of forklifts + Flexibility to work overtime and unusual schedules when required by production demands + Positive attitude in and through all situations Education and/or Experience: + High School Diploma or GED; + Three years or more of related experience + HAAS equipment experience a plus Computer Skills: + Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite + Familiar with CAD (3D, 2D layout drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, etc.) + Familiarity with CNC Programming + Ability to convert basic sketches to CAD models using various design software + Understanding of the use of multiple file types including but not limited to pdf. dxf . dwg . iges . stl . jpeg. gif. png . + Knowledge of 3D printing techniques and capabilities + Basic competence in use of 3D programming software such as Auto Cad, Inventor, etc. + Competent use of Fusion 360 and G Code programming Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: + Basic knowledge of TIG and MIG welding processes + Knowledge and experience in fabrication and machining techniques including but not limited to welding, turning, milling, laser cutting, water-jet machining, bending and rolling operations etc. + Experience in working with various materials such as mild steel, stainless steel, plastics, and foam + Advanced blue print reading and comprehension of blue print details + Understanding of and the ability to perform stainless steel passivating processes + Basic understanding of food safe manufacturing best practices + Open to hearing and considering alternative concepts + Comprehension of VFD's functions and capabilities + Proficient in TIG and MIG welding processes + Understand the science of advanced welding theories and basic metallurgy + Critical thinking competence in design and function of mechanical equipment + Ability to understand engineering designs and concepts through to completed projects + Understanding of control and automation components and systems + PLC programming and trouble shooting skills + Willingness to think and design outside the box + Insatiable desire to learn new and better ways of performing tasks + Interest in keeping informed of the latest technologies in fabricating and machining Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
