Material Handler/Forklift Operator

Material Handler/Forklift Operator Job Description The purpose of this position is to load raw materials and unload parts and scrap from machinery, move stock throughout the warehouse, and support Machine Operators with various machine-related tasks (e.g. machine cleanout) Responsibilities Load materials into machines or onto conveyors using forklifts, hand trucks, or hoists. Remove materials, products, or waste from machinery and deliver to appropriate location(s). Review work orders and schedules to determine which materials will be needed throughout the day and ensure their timely delivery. Inspect and debur parts to ensure quality standards are met. Perform job order counts daily and inventory counts weekly or as needed. Assist with machine operation under operators' request, instruction, and supervision. Move stock throughout the warehouse. Provide accurate information and quality, well-organized, parts to various departments. Assist machine operators with cleaning and lubricating machinery or equipment. Accurately mark or tag parts with necessary information (e.g., identification, measurements) Adhere to all safety procedures to ensure a safe work environment. Ensure all actions are in compliance with rules, regulations, policies, and procedures. Complete other duties and cross-training activities as assigned. Essential Skills Work daily overtime, when required, to complete the day's scheduled assignments. Cross-train with Machine Operators to offer temporary assistance, as needed. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with deburring and janitorial duties. Familiarity with using a tape measure for precision work. Why Work Here? Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Maryville, Tennessee. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.46 - $19.46/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
