Master Mechanic & Bottling Manager Direct Hire Placement Day Shift Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled and proactive Master Mechanic & Bottling Manager to lead the maintenance and packaging operations for our winery's bottling line. This dual-function role is critical to ensuring the efficiency, reliability, and quality of our bottling process spanning both still and traditional method sparkling wine production. The ideal candidate brings a balance of mechanical expertise and production leadership, with deep familiarity in winery equipment, bottling systems, and team coordination. Key Responsibilities: Lead preventative maintenance and troubleshooting across all bottling line machinery, including: Bertolasso monoblock with electro-pneumatic filler (corker, screwcap, bidule/crowner) Omar bottle washer/dryer Robino & Galandrino capsuler/spinner Bortolinkemo case packer C&G three-station rotary labeler L&C Logiclosure and Logilook inspection/rejection stations Hot glue case sealer Tawi vacuum-assisted semi-auto case stacking Barida ISO6 counterpressure filler and Barida 900 disgorgement monoblock Conveyor control systems and supporting winery production equipment Perform diagnostics and repairs on motors, gearboxes, pulleys, bearings, valves, pumps, and electrical systems. Fabricate and modify parts as needed for installation or upgrades. Manage and maintain the preventative maintenance schedule and spare parts inventory. Provide occasional maintenance support to other winery sites or mobile bottling operations. Oversee daily operations of the bottling line to ensure efficiency, minimal downtime, and adherence to quality standards. Manage all bottling line changeovers, setups, and equipment calibrations to meet package specifications for various SKUs. Coordinate with Winemaking and QC to ensure product integrity from tank to bottle. Maintain a clean, well-organized, and compliant bottling facility. Oversee inventory of bottling and packaging supplies (filters, closures, wrap, glue, etc.). Schedule and support traditional method sparkling operations including riddling and disgorging. Interpret equipment manuals, SOPs, and technical drawings for staff training and troubleshooting. Lead, train, and supervise bottling line operators, technicians, and seasonal crews or contractors. Assist in labor planning, hiring, and onboarding for the bottling team. Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement in the workplace. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to promote team skill development. Recommend capital improvements and assist with equipment selection, acquisition, and installation. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, quality checks, and production metrics. Ensure compliance with safety standards, food safety regulations, and traceability requirements. Collaborate with other departments (winemaking, logistics, quality) to ensure cohesive operations and scheduling. Evaluate and implement process improvements for greater efficiency, equipment reliability, and product consistency. Qualifications: 5+ years of experience in a winery, food/beverage manufacturing, or packaging environment. Strong mechanical skills: electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems. Proficient in equipment diagnostics, repairs, welding, and fabrication. Experience with traditional method sparkling wine operations is a plus. Proven leadership ability in a production or maintenance setting. Excellent organizational and communication skills. Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals. Flexible and responsive to dynamic production schedules and needs. #MacOR
