TITLE: Principal Electrical Systems Engineer

LOCATION: Mukilteo

EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Direct-Hire

PAY RANGE: $150,000-180,000

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:

We are hiring a Principal Electrical Engineer for one of our innovative aerospace manufacturing clients that specializes in industrial automation. This individual will act as a technical lead and be responsible for the hands-on design and development of electrical systems. Extensive robotics experience is essential for success in this role.

  • Responsible for the design, development, testing and deployment for electrical and control systems from bench prototypes to full production.
  • Lead the design and development of electrical systems, including low-voltage electronics and high-voltage industrial control panels.
  • Own circuitry design work.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues associated with corrective and preventive maintenance.
  • Read, analyze & interpret documents, such as procedure manuals, wiring diagrams, blueprints & schematics.
  • Create and maintain electrical design documentation such as schematic diagrams and layout documents.
  • Develop schematics, BOMs, and layouts to create Printed Circuit Board Assemblies. Bring up, troubleshoot, and launch PCBA designs into production.
  • Design, test, install, and maintain small-scale electronic equipment, applying principles and techniques of electrical engineering.
  • Work with Software, Electrical, and System Engineers and Project Management to ensure a successful product lifecycle.
  • Develops product technical specifications and specifications for each customers implementations.
  • Plan or conduct experimental, environmental, operational, or stress tests on automated assembly prototypes.
  • Work with the operations manager and engineers to ensure products are built to spec.
  • Lead, guide, and train other members of the project and electrical engineering team.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • B.S. or higher in nuclear engineering or other relevant engineering degree
  • 10+ years of electrical engineering experience
  • Leadership experience in some capacity - training and mentoring junior employees and leading projects
  • Expertise with PCB design and layout and system-level electrical engineering
  • Proficiency utilizing Altium
  • Experience with embedded systems, power electronics, sensors, test equipment and system-level troubleshooting
  • Robotics experience - ideally coming from the industrial automation industry
  • Excellent communication skills with peers and desire to mentor others in similar disciplines
  • The successful candidate will possess a high degree of trust and integrity, communicate openly and display respect and a desire to foster teamwork
