On-Board Engineering Corp. is hiring a Full-Time Project Engineer for an industrial manufacturing client site in Spokane, WA. You will manage construction projects from start to finish in a timely and cost-effective manner and assist in developing and executing small capital projects (
Please Note: This is a long-term, full-time position based in Spokane, WA. Candidates outside the area must be willing to relocate; per diem is not available. This role is part of our program management team and will be a continual need contingent upon the selected candidate's performance and the client's continued business needs. The ideal candidate is someone desiring to establish their roots and remain an integral part of the team over the long-term.
Key Responsibilities:
- Be a safety-first advocate.
- Budgeting, organization, implementation, and scheduling of projects.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
- Ensure construction activities align with established timelines and budgets.
- Coordinate resources, resolve issues, and deliver successful projects.
- Oversee and direct construction projects from conception to completion.
- Perform constructability reviews and contribute to the Front-End Loading (FEL) of the CapEx process.
- Run RFP and bid clarification meetings.
- Review projects in-depth to schedule deliverables and estimate costs.
- Monitor safety regulations and oversee all construction activities.
- Coordinate and direct construction workers and subcontractors.
- Meet contractual conditions of performance.
- Review work progress daily.
- Prepare internal and external reports on job status.
- Plan to prevent problems and resolve emerging issues.
- Analyze, manage, and mitigate risks.
- Ensure quality construction standards and proper techniques.
- Use Change Orders to reflect project plan changes.
- Identify and assign necessary resources for successful project execution.
- Coordinate activities between internal process design teams, design houses, and contractors.
- Manage interfaces between design houses, contractors, and internal process design teams.
- Advocate for safety awareness, implement policies and procedures, and participate in safety audits and meetings.
- High School diploma required; bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management preferred
- OSHA Certifications are a plus
- 5+ years of relevant industrial plant environment experience.
- Developed and implemented safe work strategies; ensured site and contractor safety.
- Polished communication and presentation skills (oral and written).
- Strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills; ability to influence managers, peers, and maintenance teams.
- Proficiency in software tools such as SAP, Primavera P6, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Project, Visio, Outlook, SharePoint).
- Must be authorized to work in the USA without sponsorship.
- Drug and background screenings required.
