Qualifications:
Education/Experience
High School Diploma or possession of a GED Certificate
Two years experience as an electrical/mechanical technician
Demonstrated knowledge of methods, materials, equipment and tools used in the construction, repair, and operation of engines, pumps, and other mechanical equipment related to water and waste water treatment plant operations and procedures.
Knowledge of the operations of internal combustion engines and electrical pump motors.
Enough computer proficiency to perform basic data entry and revise/update electronically produced work orders
Education/Experience Equivalency
Demonstrated completion of mechanic or maintenance training program may be substituted for one year of experience (electrical, HVAC, or other building trades apprenticeship where applicable)
Licensure and/or Certification
Possession of a valid Drivers License
Prefer completion of the Certified Maintenance and Reliability Technician certification (CMRT offered by SMRP)
Commercial Drivers License from State of New Mexico (Preferred)

Works under general supervision, employees work product is subject to close, periodic inspection. Employee receives detailed instructions on new projects and assignments, and may contribute to the creation of instructions for projects and/or assignments.
