Mechanical Designer Drafter

Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Designer/Drafter to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for engineering millwork and cabinetry solutions for various projects. This role requires expertise in CAD software and an understanding of materials and construction techniques.

Responsibilities

• Develop technical drawings and designs for custom millwork and cabinetry using CAD software.
• Collaborate with architects, designers, and project managers to interpret design specifications and translate them into manufacturable products.
• Optimize material usage and production efficiency through thoughtful engineering.
• Assist in troubleshooting manufacturing issues and recommend improvements.
• Input pre-existing designs into Inventor and determine the necessary materials and measurements.

• Proficiency in AutoCAD Inventor, CAD, and Solidworks.
• Experience in woodworking, architectural drawing, millwork, and cabinetry.
• 1+ years of experience with Autodesk Inventor software or Solidworks.
• 3-5 years of experience in the millwork, cabinetry, or woodworking industries.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials such as wood, laminates, and millwork materials.

• Experience with Microvellum and other relevant software is a plus.
• No degree required.

The work environment features a very clean manufacturing floor and an office space that resembles a showroom with custom wood paneling, tables, and industrial fixtures. The office overlooks the production floor through floor-to-ceiling windows. The role requires working onsite five days a week, with some flexibility for appointments. The environment supports a culture of innovation in a newly constructed office space adjacent to the manufacturing floor.

The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $43.00/hr.
