Description

Key ResponsibilitiesDesign & DraftingPrepare technical drawings and models for bridge design projects using a strong understanding of geometry, structural components, and engineering input.Develop 2D and 3D models, general arrangement drawings, and detailed views using CAD platforms.Interpret sketches, verbal instructions, and computer models to determine the most effective views and details for design documentation.Produce complete preliminary designs (BDR level) with minimal or no supervision.Apply reference/model file concepts to prepare construction drawing packages, including discipline-specific plans, sections, and details.Ensure proper organization and filing of all drawings and documentation.Technical ExpertiseUtilize data from software tools, manufacturer catalogs, and technical guides to support design accuracy.Perform plan checks to ensure compliance with industry standards and project specifications.Occasionally interpret general designs from others to finalize minor details.Provide expert advice on complex or unusual design challenges.Project CoordinationOrganize and prioritize assignments to meet project deadlines.May serve as a coordinator and planner for large, complex drafting projects.Collaborate across divisions to support interoffice project execution under general supervision.Leadership & MentorshipMentor and train junior CADD personnel.Lead small to medium-sized teams to ensure successful project delivery.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

A minimum of 15 years of related industry-specific experience (e.g., bridge or infrastructure projects).Advanced skills in 3D design software and coordination tools.Proficient in document management systems.Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office and communication platforms.Deep understanding of engineering or architectural concepts.Familiarity with industry standards, practices, discipline codes, and specifications.Excellent communication, organizational skills, and attention to detail.Proven leadership and mentoring capabilities.Proficiency in MicroStation Connect and OpenBridge Modeler (OBM).Experience with Civil 3D is a plus.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $40.00/hr.
