LICENSE/CERTIFICATION : Valid Electrician’s Certification/License, Valid Driver’s License, and DMV Driving History Printout (no more than 30 days old).

JOB SUMMARY :

Responsible for maintaining, repairing, and installing electrical systems, equipment, and fixtures throughout the Mesquite Gaming properties. Ensure that all electrical components are in proper working order to support all the operations and provide a safe and comfortable environment for guests and staff.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS :

Relevant electrician's license or certification in compliance with local regulations. Proven experience as an electrician, preferably in a hospitality or commercial setting. Strong knowledge of electrical systems, circuits, and troubleshooting techniques. Familiarity with electrical codes, regulations, and safety standards. Ability to read and interpret electrical blueprints and diagrams. Proficiency in using electrical tools, meters, and testing equipment. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Effective communication and teamwork abilities. Ability to perform tasks that require bending, lifting, and climbing.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS :

  1. Perform routine inspections and maintenance on electrical systems, including lighting, power distribution, and equipment.
  1. Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical issues, identifying the root causes and implementing necessary repairs promptly.
  1. Repair or replace faulty wiring, switches, outlets, and fixtures as needed.
  1. Install new electrical systems, components, and fixtures according to Company standards and safety regulations. Upgrade existing electrical systems to meet modern energy efficiency and safety standards.
  1. Respond to emergency electrical issues promptly, assessing the situation and taking corrective actions to minimize disruptions and hazards.
  1. Ensure all electrical work adheres to local electrical codes, regulations, and safety standards. Identify potential safety hazards and recommend solutions to mitigate risks.
  1. Maintain accurate records of electrical maintenance activities, repairs, and installations.
  1. Through the Engineering Department, coordinate with other departments, such as housekeeping and food services, to schedule maintenance and repairs without disrupting guest experiences.
  1. Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in electrical systems and equipment.
  1. Other job-related duties as assigned and instructed by management.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS :

The work requires physical exertion such as long periods of standing; walking over rough, uneven, or rocky surfaces; recurring bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, reaching, or similar activities; recurring lifting of moderately heavy items. The work may require specific, but common, physical characteristics and abilities such as above-average agility and dexterity. Ability to lift, push and pull up to 50 lbs.

WORK ENVIRONMENT :

Work in undesirable conditions including extreme heat (exceeding 120 degrees) cold, wind and rain. The work involves moderate risks or discomforts requiring special safety precautions, e.g., working around moving parts, carts, or machines, or with irritant chemicals. Employees may be required to use protective clothing or gear such as masks, glasses, hard hats, gloves and boots. Use of safe work practices with office equipment, avoidance of trips and falls, and observance of fire regulations and traffic signals. The work area is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated. The work environment involves exposure to secondhand smoke in a casino. This is a 24 hour/7 day a week work environment with varying shifts including weekends and holidays.
