Tri Pointe Homes Orlando is looking for an experienced, enthusiastic individual to join our talented group as an Operations Manager

Position Highlights : The Operations Manager partners with the VP of Operations, Construction, Architecture, and Purchasing teams on construction activities for all home and communities. Responsible for planning, organizing, and supervising the construction permit application, issuance, and homesite start process. Supervises and coordinates the provision of efficient and effective service review in, documents, ensuring zoning, and building code compliance is completed; filing for approvals, and performing other essential functions of the job to support multiple departments.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Manage the division’s home start process through daily updates received from Construction Managers & periodic field inspections
  • Hold weekly meetings with Architecture, Sales, Construction, and Purchasing leadership teams to ensure timelines are met resulting in on-time home starts
  • Responsible for communication to all Trade Partners of upcoming starts and homesite selections for material and mobilization planning
  • Manages and oversees home start lot releases weekly to ensure alignment with the production starts schedule.
  • Provide weekly updates on completed home starts and forecast upcoming monthly and quarterly starts against the business plan
  • Work with the Area Construction Managers and Construction Managers to implement the coordination and enforcement of the schedule program – including schedule recovery methods and individual schedule adjustments as approved by the VP of Operations
  • Manage the division’s Permit Application and Receipt Process ensuring permit issuance before home start
  • Responsible for building effective relationships with various municipalities
  • Manage and oversee all permitting requirements including town and municipal zoning requirements
  • Maintain a log of fee structures and payment requests methods
  • Manages and oversees the building construction application approval process, issuance of permits, fee assessment, and payment processing
  • Responsible for validating and compiling data filing and monitoring each stage of the permit approval process
  • Ensure all project fees are paid before the Certificate of Occupancy
  • Manage the permit submittal application tracking process and provide status updates to leadership on an ongoing basis
  • Manage permit rejection comments and coordinate recovery with applicable department team members
  • Works closely with Construction, Purchasing, and Trade partners pertaining to even flow and construction batching
  • Support Operations Leadership with annual, quarterly, and monthly business planning forecasts
  • Collaborate with Construction leadership on construction cycle time improvement opportunities
  • Supports training and communication of internal scheduling application process and enhancements
  • Manage trade partner capacity capabilities in collaboration with Purchasing Leadership to meet business plan
  • Other duties as assigned

Position Qualifications :

  • 4+ years of experience in construction operation
  • High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Strong computer skills with a working knowledge of Excel and Word
  • Valid Driver’s License with good driving record
  • Experience with JD Edwards Enterprise One (E-1) and BuildPro preferred
  • Experience with reading architectural and site plans preferred
  • Able to professionally perform multiple detail-oriented tasks with simultaneous deadlines
  • Must be a detail-oriented team player comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with heavy volume workload
