JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for assisting in the management of day-to-day operations for the Engineering department, including Maintenance and Groundskeepers.
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:
College degree preferred.
Five or more years experience in casino and hotel building maintenance and customer service required.
Ability to work with internal management and staff, as well as, outside support to develop and maintain a continuing atmosphere of peak guest and employee comfort and safety.
Excellent interpersonal, customer service, communication, team building and problem-solving skills are required.
Must be able to handle demanding situations and be willing to work any shift and long hours when necessary.
Must be able to get along with co-workers and work as a team.
Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Manages daily maintenance and repairs on all building mechanical systems, equipment and tools, public areas, guest rooms and central plant.
Responsible for maintaining cleanliness of facilities in all public and non-public areas.
Manages maintenance of all HVACs, kitchen, electric, gas, and steam-powered equipment, energy management equipment and operation of life safety systems throughout property.
Manages all areas to include cleaning and maintenance.
Ensures consistent, high quality maintenance standards are maintained for the entire property.
Handles and responds to all guest complaints.
Responsible for maintenance and repairs to include heating, cooling, electrical, television, plumbing and telephone systems.
Oversees all emergency situations, i.e. power outages, alarms, etc.
Responsible for the proper scheduling of employees, ensuring a high level of guest service while maintaining control of labor costs.
Motivates employees in their respective areas.
Supervises assigned personnel, assuring that each employee receives appropriate training and timely performance appraisals in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Responsible for ensuring ADA compliance for casino and hotel areas.
Meets the attendance guidelines of the job and adheres to regulatory, departmental and company policies.
Spends the majority of time interviewing, training, and selecting employees.
Conducts Performance Reviews.
Makes or recommends wage increases.
Makes or recommends promotions.
Provides for safety and security.
Handles employees' complaints or grievances.
Recommends disciplinary action or disciplines employees.
Plans work.
Supervises and monitors work.
Monitors legal compliance with federal, state, and gaming laws.

Must be able to work independently.

Must be able to stoop, bend, as well as, maneuver up and down stairs.
Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
Must have the manual dexterity to grab, grip, type, pull, hold, tear, sort, reach, and file appropriate paperwork.
Must be able to perform physical and mental duties of engineering personnel.
Must be able to recognize and respond to individuals with their questions.
Must present a well-groomed appearance.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Must be able to tolerate areas containing second hand smoke, dust and bright lights.
Must be able to operate the following equipment: computer, telephones, fax, and copy machine.
Must be able to learn and retain locations, operation and repair procedures of this propertys mechanical systems, equipment and life safety system.
Must possess the coordination and dexterity to work with sweeper, high-pressure steamer, company vehicles, front loaders, man lifts, backhoes, and other necessary equipment.
