SAIC is seeking an Electrical Engineer to support our HWIL (Hardware-in-the-Loop) simulation environments, missile systems development, and system integration to support our team. This position will be based in Huntsville, AL.
- The Electrical Engineer will be responsible but not limited to the following:
- Design and develop electrical systems and components for HWIL simulation environments, including circuit design, PCB layout, and system integration
- Innovate and implement solutions to complex engineering challenges within the HWIL domain
- Conduct thorough testing and validation of electrical systems to ensure compliance with design specifications and performance standards
- Develop and execute test plans, analyzing test results to identify and resolve issues
- Collaborate with software engineers, mechanical engineers, and other team members to integrate electrical systems with other components in the HWIL simulation environment
- Ensure seamless integration and interoperability of all system components.
- Prepare detailed technical documentation, including design specifications, test plans, and reports
- Maintain accurate records of design changes, test results, and project progress.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring all deliverables are met on time and within budget
- Communicate effectively with project stakeholders, providing regular updates on project status and addressing any concerns
- Stay current with advancements in electrical engineering and HWIL technology
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the HWIL development process
Qualifications
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and at least (2) two years of experience; four years of experience accepted in lieu of a degree
Clearance Requirements:
- Must possess and be able to maintain an active Secret security clearance; US Citizenship required
Required Skills:
- US Army trainer design, test, and sustainment, including obsolescence mitigation
- Analog and digital circuit design and test
- Schematic capture using Altium Designer
- PCB layout using Altium Designer
- Firmware design, including asynchronous and synchronous serial communications, reading active and passive sensor data, and video control (Assembly or C language)
- Familiarity with 3D printing and mechanical assembly techniques is helpful
- Works well in a small team
