What You Will Be Doing
We are seeking a Senior Manager of Cloud Infrastructure Engineering to lead the team that designs, builds, and operates multi-cloud foundation across AWS and Google Cloud Platform You will own the strategy, execution, and continuous improvement of ChargePoint's EV Charging Platform, ensuring reliability, scale, cost-efficiency, and security. You will be modernizing the way we build, deploy, and operate cloud-native services at scale using a micro-services architecture.
In this leadership position you will manage a team of highly skilled engineers (cloud infrastructure, DevOps,) while partnering closely with Product, Application Engineering, and Security to deliver self-service infrastructure, solid CI/CD pipelines, and world-class operational excellence.

Strategy & Roadmap
- Define and execute ChargePoint's Cloud and AI infrastructure roadmap, aligning with engineering and business objectives.
- Champion platform-as-a-product thinking build repeatable, self-service internal hosting platforms.
Platform Engineering
- Serve as the thought leader for Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) and CI/CD (GitHub Actions, ArgoCD, GitLab CI).
- Own AI infrastructure management, autoscaling, capacity planning, and cost optimization for model training & serving.
- Guide modernization efforts (Micro-services, Containerization, Observability).
Cloud Operations
- Own reliability, performance, security, and cost-optimization metrics across AWS and GCP.
- Establish governance guardrails, tagging policies, and FinOps dashboards.
Collaboration & Influence
- Partner with Architecture, Application and Security teams to deliver secure, compliant, and scalable solutions.
- Drive adoption of open APIs, standards, and GitOps practices across engineering.
Innovation & Continuous Improvement
- Track industry trends (Kubernetes, Telemetry, AI-powered ops) and pilot emerging tech where it adds value.
- Measure and improve reliability through automated testing, and self-healing designs.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in Cloud Engineering, Cloud Infrastructure, DevOps, or related fields, with a strong technical background in cloud infrastructure, automation, and system reliability.
- 4+ years of leadership experience, including managing and mentoring engineers.
- Passion for driving a high-performing engineering culture and mentoring engineers to develop technical and leadership skills.
- A proactive, hands-on approach with a bias for action and problem-solving.
- Proven track record of defining and executing an architectural vision to drive reliability, scalability, and efficiency.
- Proficient in agile team software development and strong project management, delivering complex projects within defined timelines and resource constraints.
- Deep hands-on expertise in cloud platforms (GCP, AWS), including networking, compute, storage, security and best practices.
- Strong proficiency in Terraform, Kubernetes, Helm, and container orchestration.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and configuration management (Ansible, etc.).
- Experience designing or operating AI/ML infrastructure: GPU/TPU clusters, distributed training, model-serving.
- Fluency in scripting (Python, Go, Bash) for automation and operational tasks.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to influence executives and engineers alike.

Campbell, CA
ChargePoint is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The targeted US salary range for roles at this operating level is $115,000 to $280,000. This range represents base salary and does not reflect equity, benefits or variable pay where applicable. Actual base salaries are based on several factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, experience, certifications and specific work location
