- Maintain consistent verbal contact with contract engineering firms to reduce drawing revisions and maintain SK's electrical expectations.
- Electrical representative for Project Design Packages (PDPs).
Project specifications:
- Determine electrical specifications for new equipment installations.
- Advise production engineers where possible to source equipment with common facility electrical system sources. This requires researching the equipment more in-depth and vendor's offerings.
- Obtain necessary information from vendors to understand electrical specifications when needed, to include +/- limits, disconnect ratings, and possible other voltage offerings.
- Awareness of other disciplines (mech., civil, etc.), to gather the appropriate information for teammates to provide design input.
Detailed Engineering:
- Provide inputs and recommendations for electrical portion of project drawings.
- Need to be able to size wiring, grounds, disconnects (breakers, fuses, etc.). Not just for small projects as electrical lead, but to appropriately review external sourced drawings as well.
- Interface with electrical contractors continuously to address as-built issues and correct through drawing space and/or specification changes.
- Design, source material, and provide drawings as necessary for smaller. one-off projects. i.e., HVAC VFDs, pumps, and manufacturing equipment.
- Design and communicate build requirements for equipment control panel needs.
- Communicate electrical sources (MCC bucket, panel designation, etc.) for equipment to installation team(s) with understanding of electrical load limits.
- Review and submit (as necessary) Issued for Construction (IFC) electrical drawings.
