Qualifications:
BA/BS Degree in General Engineering, Project Management, BusinessAdministration, Facility Management, Construction Management or closely relatedwith minimum additional experience of 10 year(s) in Construction Management,Contract Administration, Project Management, Facility Management, Engineering orrelated
Valid State Driver License and experience in vertical/building constructionor rehabilitation.Experience required with Windows, MS Word, MS Excel, MS Teams, MS Outlook,MS SharePoint, Adobe AcrobatDuties:
Serve as a Project Inspector in the Division of Facility Management withinCanyonlands National Park and is responsible for managing construction projectsin the Needles District of the Park. Primary purpose is to provide constructionmanagement and inspection services on a variety of construction activitiesrelated to installation of a new photovoltaic system (building, array,transformers, generators, etc.).
Project Coordination & Inspection ? Provide inspection, monitoring andcontrol of a variety of construction activities for adherence with contractdocuments and industry standards. This more generally includes 1) serving as theProject Inspector observing contractor progress and quality of work to ensurecontract specifications and schedules are met, 2) inspecting work performed bycontractors to ensure conformance with contract documents including ensuringnatural and cultural compliance mitigations are followed throughoutconstruction, 3) participating in construction planning meetings, briefings anddebriefings, and 4) coordinating and communicating with park staff abouton-going construction activities and effects of these activities on park staff,visitors and park operations. 60%Completes daily reports, summaries, and photographs to monitorprogress 20%Project Support ? Review submittals, requests for information, andconstruction documents (drawings, specifications, and reports) forconstructability and provide recommendations to Contracting Officer?sRepresentative. This more generally includes 1) Interpreting contract documents,identify any errors or omissions in contract documents, and recommend correctingactions through the Contracting Officer?s Representative and 2) Providingdocumentation to park staff and Contracting Officer Representative for theconstruction projects for scheduling, milestones, modifications, updates and anyother pertinent information for contract management and parkoperations. 15%Other ? Operates park vehicle as necessary for travel needed to accomplishassigned tasks. Perform administrative duties related to time keeping. MaintainNational Park Service property, such as computers, cameras, printers and otherhardware or software needed for the position. Perform work in Microsoft OfficeSuite with proficiency. 5%
