Position Overview:

Birdi Systems, Inc. is looking for an experienced Electrical Project Engineer to support a large-scale Automated People Mover (APM) transportation project. This role is ideal for a senior-level engineer who excels in field coordination, system integration, and multidisciplinary engineering support. You will work directly under the Engineering Manager and collaborate closely with the construction, testing, and commissioning teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide on-site field engineering and coordination with subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors under the direction of the Engineering Manager.Support the integration and final design interface of key APM subsystems including:Communications (Radio, Network, CCTV, Public Address, ACAMS)Cybersecurity compliancePower Distribution and SCADA SystemsAutomatic Train Control (ATC)Platform Screen Doors (PSD)Owner's communications infrastructureAssist construction and test teams in executing planned field activities.Coordinate interdisciplinary engineering efforts across internal and external teams.Oversee supplier activities, including schedule reviews and execution of factory and site acceptance testing.Prepare technical reports and documentation for internal stakeholders and the Owner.Act as the Engineering Manager's delegate in meetings or project activities as needed.Review and approve technical change orders and coordinate necessary communications across the project team.Participate in regular project meetings with the Owner and internal leadership to align technical direction with project objectives.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.10+ years of relevant field engineering experience, ideally within the transportation or rail industry.Proven expertise in system integration for communications and power systems.Experience working on infrastructure or transit projects with multiple technical interfaces.Strong understanding of project scheduling, testing protocols, and contractor oversight.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary project environment.
