This position can sit in Herndon, VA; Columbia, MD; Washington D.C., or Baltimore, MD.

Responsibilities include:

Serving as the project manager and technical lead for roadways, bridges, trails, and related infrastructure projects

Reviewing and leading proposals including scope, fees, and schedules

Overseeing budgets and schedules for various size projects

Developing and maintaining client contacts

Mentoring junior staff

Leading QA/QC reviews

Attending client meetings

Forecasting workload for projects and resource planning

Developing design and construction plans, design reports, specifications, and cost estimates

Acquiring necessary construction permits

Assisting with contract administration

Travel will be required as needed.

The successful candidate will have all of the following:

Bachelor's degree (or higher) in civil engineering from an accredited university

At least 7 years of relevant work experience with at least 2 years being at the project management level; and

a PE license in any state with the ability to obtain in MD, DC, and VA within 6 months of start date

The ideal candidate will have any/all of the following:

Knowledge of MDOT, DDOT or VDOT and local design guidelines and manuals

Well versed in drainage design modeling to include cross sections along with grading, storm drain & utilities.

Experience in Drainage, Storm water Management and Erosion and Sediment Control designs and calculations

Understanding of bridge hydraulics and flood plain analysis

Experience with the software programs: MicroStation or Autocad, TR-20, TR-55, HY-8, HecRas

Experienced with report writing as relates to transportation projects

Knowledge of MDE, DOEE or VPDES permit requirements

Experience preparing cost estimates and construction specifications or special provisions

Experience in Mid-Atlantic Area to include MD, DC or VA and local governments

Experience in coordination with various design disciplines, utility coordination and project stakeholders

Salary Range: $105,000 - $143,000. Actual compensation may vary due to other factors such as: experience, skill set or location.
