Constructs, repairs, restores, and installs structural woodwork and related materials.

Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Constructs, repairs, restores and installs structures such as floors, doors, walls, windows, stairways, furniture, cabinets, shelves, etc.
  • Operates and performs preventative maintenance on hand and power saws, planers, lathes, joiners, drills, and a variety of other hand tools.
  • Considers budget when requisitioning materials and supplies from the stockroom or ordering from vendors.
  • Performs routine maintenance and other functions as needed and/or requested.
  • Abides by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability privacy and security regulations regarding all aspects of Protected Health Information (PHI).
  • Performs functions that may affect a population newborn through geriatric.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Knowledge of tools, equipment, and material common to the carpentry trade.
  • Skills in the construction, repair, restoration, and installation of wood or related materials.
  • Ability to read blueprints and diagrams.
  • Mathematical and analytical skills to do material estimates.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively.

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Knowledge of life safety codes.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • 3 - 5 years previous experience.

  • Completion of approved apprenticeship program.
