Assistant Operator - 1st Shift Job Description As an Assistant Operator, you will play a crucial role in supporting the machine operator within a team environment. You will receive comprehensive training across all processes of the converting process, with the potential to advance to a lead operator position. This role requires an 8-hour shift, where you will be actively engaged on your feet in a temperature-controlled environment. Responsibilities Assist the machine operator in daily operations. Participate in all stages of the converting process. Ensure the quality and inspection of products. Operate machinery including rewind and forklift when necessary. Maintain a safe and clean working environment. Essential Skills Packaging expertise. Machine operation proficiency. Inspection capabilities. Experience in paper converting. At least 6 months of previous manufacturing experience within the last 2 years. Ability to consistently lift 30lbs. Physical capability to stand, bend, twist, squat, and rotate through an 8-hour shift. Additional Skills & Qualifications Previous manufacturing or production experience is advantageous. A high school diploma is preferred but not required. Strong attendance record as verified by references. Why Work Here? Work Environment The work environment is a newer building, well-maintained, and equipped with modern machines. The facility is spacious, particularly in areas dedicated to warehousing large rolls of tissue and boxes of finished products. The temperature-controlled setting provides comfort, while some noise is present, hearing protection is available but not mandatory. You will work from 5am-1pm Monday-Friday. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Kaukauna, Wisconsin. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $24.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
