OVERVIEW**
FRANKLIN INDUSTRIES is looking for a new Industrial Electrician. The Industrial Electrician will support Franklin Industries by planning, laying out, installing, and repairing wiring, electrical devices, and control equipment. This position requires working closely with other trades in a team setting.
**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Troubleshoot electrical malfunctions as they occur to determine cause and solution.
- Monitor radio and respond to calls as needed.
- Determine voltage, resistance, etc. and draw dimensions and methods to be used to wire machinery.
- Handle all electrical wiring, repair, modifications, and upgrades as needed in the plant.
- Monitor plant equipment and facilities to discover and prevent potential problems.
- Handle emergency repairs as quickly as possible to minimize downtime.
- Repair and monitor all broken electrical parts.
- Repair and rebuild drive motors as needed.
- Remain familiar with all electrical equipment used in plant.
- Work with Storeroom Manager to ensure material is on hand to make electrical repairs as needed.
- Act as Emergency Action Support.
- Replace faulty lights.
- Keep accurate records on all work completed in CMMS.
- Ensure that electrical dangers are minimized for all employees.
- Meet/achieve production goals set forth by management.
- Other miscellaneous duties as assigned by management.
**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Three (3) years of industrial electrical experience.
- One (1) year hot steel mill plant experience preferred.
- Strong attention to detail, organization and problem-solving skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Highly developed critical thinking skills.
- Motivated self-starter
- Ability to work, develop, and maintain ongoing relationships with all different levels within the organization
- Overtime as required.
- Valid driver's license.
- Familiarity with OSHA standards.
**WORKING CONDITIONS**
- This is a safety sensitive position. You will be working around and/or operating heavy machinery.
- PPE required.
- Artificial lighting.
- Temperature variations.
- Exposure to extreme heat when mill is rolling.
- Working around electricity.
- Working around mechanical parts, and vibrations.
- Working around some fumes, and gases.
- Working with some fluids and chemicals.
- Working around loud noises.
**PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS**
- Ability to climb on, off, and around equipment.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time.
- Ability to bend, walk, twist, lift, turn or sit.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently.
- Ability to lift up to 100 lbs. occasionally.
- Ability to use wrists, hands, and/or fingers for various repetitive motions.
- Ability to verbally communicate.
- Good eye acuity, depth perception, field of vision with or without accommodation.
**ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS**
- Continuously perform all required tasks in a safe manner, adhering to all established safety rules and procedures.
- Must take immediate action to correct and/or report any unsafe conditions and hazards.
- Keep work area clean and organized, as per standards.
- Follow all applicable policies and procedures.
- Follow all PPE policies and requirements (steel toed shoes, hearing protection, safety glasses, etc.)
- Ensure that all quality standards are maintained when performing all job duties.
**STARTING PAY** - Between $25 and $29/hour, depending on experience. (OT is paid at 1.5x pay after 40 hours). **New employees are eligible for merit raises and more cross training opportunities after passing their 90-day probationary period.**
