Position Overview

As a Regional Safety Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of all personnel on our projects in Central Florida. You will lead the development and implementation of safety programs, conduct regular site inspections, and foster a culture of safety across all levels of the organization. Your expertise will be vital in identifying potential hazards, mitigating risks, and ensuring compliance with all safety regulations and standards.

District Overview

Kiewit's Southeast District specializes in heavy civil, transportation and water resource markets, and has played a significant role in building infrastructure throughout the fast-growing southeastern United States. Since the 1970s, we have built projects from Maryland to Florida and west to Louisiana. Our operations include highways, airports, mass transit, tunnels, water and wastewater facilities, dams and infrastructure work

Location

Central Florida.

Responsibilities

Implement and oversee the Project Safety Program including the development of site safety policies and procedures.
Conduct training, including new hire orientation and safety meetings.
Monitor all heavy industrial construction work for compliance with safety requirements.
Certification as a Safety Professional or Emergency Medical Technician is also desired.

Qualifications

Degree in Occupational Health and Safety or Industrial or equivalent degree/work experience
Strong work ethic; good interpersonal and organizational skills
Must be able to act independently with little or no supervision and work collaboratively on a team environment
Ability to operate a standard personal computer as well as knowledge of and experience with standard office computer software.
Ability to carry out duties in varying work environments including wide ranging weather conditions and terrain.
Knowledge of construction safety, current Federal and OSHA requirements is preferred
