Pipe Layer Utility Laborers

Superior Skilled Trades is currently hiring Pipe Layer Utility Laborers for long-term career opportunities in Columbia, South Carolina!

Location: Columbia, SC
Pay: $18$22/hour (based on experience)
Schedule: MondayFriday, 7:00 AM4:00 PM (with potential weekend overtime)
Start Date: ASAP
Job Type: Temp-to-Perm

What Youll Do:
As a Pipe Layer Helper, youll support our crew by assisting with the installation of underground utilities, including water, sewer, and storm drainage systems. Under the supervision of a foreman, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
Assisting in the layout and installation of pipe systems
Gathering tools, materials, and equipment needed on-site
Preparing trenches and maintaining a safe work area
Measuring, cutting, and laying pipe
Following all safety protocols and procedures
Maintaining cleanliness and organization at the job site
Digging, shoveling and other construction labor duties

Required Skills & Experience:
Prior experience working as a pipe layer helper or similar role on a construction site (1 Year minimum)
Experience with GPS Dozer and Excavator (huge plus and strongly preferred)
Familiarity with common hand and power tools
Ability to perform physically demanding tasks in various weather conditions
Strong understanding of job site safety practices

Additional Requirements:
Must have reliable transportation
Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check
Job requires the use of proper PPE: steel-toe boots, safety vest, hard hat, safety glasses, and gloves
