Description
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Estimator to provide accurate and timely cost estimates in support of construction projects and facility service requests. This role is responsible for planning, directing, and supervising aspects of construction cost estimation, and plays a key part in ensuring effective budgeting, forecasting, and execution of facility-related projects.
Primary Responsibilities :
- Develop, prepare, and present detailed cost estimates for construction and facility service projects.
- Support the Facility Service Request (FSR) process by delivering timely estimates and cost-related forecasting.
- Analyze drawings, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment of estimates with project requirements.
- Conduct site visits and assessments to gather relevant information for accurate estimating.
- Monitor ongoing projects to ensure alignment with estimates and provide updates or revisions as needed.
- Assist in value engineering and identifying cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or compliance.
- Maintain and update historical cost databases and other estimating tools.
- Provide input for budgeting, planning, and scheduling of projects.
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and client requirements.
Basic Qualifications
- TS/SCI w/ Poly Clearance is required
- Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related technical field, and 48 years of relevant experience
- OR
- Masters degree in a related field with 26 years of relevant experience.
- Demonstrated experience in planning, organizing, and supervising construction projects and facility maintenance efforts.
- Strong proficiency in Autodesk AutoCAD for interpreting and developing construction and technical drawings.
- Proven skills in project management, construction management, and scheduling.
- Knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and quality control standards relevant to the construction industry.
- Effective budgeting and cost forecasting abilities.
- Experience conducting construction inspections and implementing risk mitigation measures.
- Ability to lead and mentor junior technical staff and coordinate multidisciplinary teams.
- Excellent communication skills with experience collaborating with internal stakeholders and external clients.
- Familiarity with technical specifications development and documentation processes.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional certifications such as PMP (Project Management Professional), CCM (Certified Construction Manager), or PE (Professional Engineer).
- Advanced understanding of contract management and experience negotiating and administering construction contracts.
- Proven ability to manage multiple contractors and subcontractors across complex, high-value projects.
- Experience in strategic planning, including alignment of construction projects with long-term organizational goals.
