Safely perform assembly and fitting of detail parts and structures, including varied drilling and riveting operations; ensure parts/assemblies meet quality and engineering requirements.
Perform sheet metal layout, fabrication, and installation of parts, equipment, or fabricated items on aircraft.
Rivet structural assemblies and parts using tools such as:
Portable riveting guns
Pneumatic drills and guns
Countersinks
Rivet shavers, files, and reamers
Remove fasteners without damaging structure.
Read and interpret:
Work orders
Blueprints, lofts, and operation sheets
Sketches and hole patterns
Cut and form plastics; follow SOPs when using adhesives, sealants, and solvents.
Check and verify work to ensure assemblies are defect-free prior to final inspection.
Maintain and use all logs and records, such as:
Material Inspection Reports (MIR)
Discrepant Material Tags (DMTs)
Crabs
Production Change Orders (PCOs)
Align and assemble parts using appropriate equipment:
Jigs
Holding fixtures
Pins, clamps, and fasteners
Shape and form complex angles and configurations using correct tooling based on blueprints or instructions.
Perform repairs per DMTs, MRRs, and PCOs; complete rework to ensure installation conformity.
Maintain a clean and organized work area; support the companys 5S Program and follow all safety regulations.
Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
Properly collect and dispose of:
Waste fuel
Oil and hydraulic fluids
De-icing fluids and solvent rags
Accurately charge labor to aircraft on a daily basis.
Communicate and coordinate work between shifts via turnover reports and direct contact with team leads.
Assist in maintaining shop equipment and associated Job Safety Analyses (JSAs).
Support and participate in Lean Manufacturing Activities.
Perform other duties as assigned.
