As a Mechanical Engineer , you'll play a key role in designing robust, cost-effective, and high-performing vehicle components that keep our customers moving. From performing in-depth engineering analysis to reverse engineering and launching new products, youll be at the forefront of innovation in a company thats building momentum and investing in its future.

YOUR IMPACT:

  • Under close supervision, perform basic engineering calculations, investigations, and tasks as assigned according to Oshkosh/McNeilus as well as general industry engineering standards and processes.

  • Support senior engineers in the preparation of basic plans, designs, computation methods, price structures, costs, and/or reporting.

  • Work on projects of limited complexity in a support role.

  • Collaborate as needed with other engineering functions including but not limited to Product Support, New Product Development, Sustaining, and Operations Engineering.

  • Maintain effective communication with suppliers, internal and external customers, and outside resources concerning technical issues.

  • Enforce the proper use of engineering criteria and drawing standards. Ensure that technical issues are corrected through proper procedures.

  • Evaluate designs for IP and patent opportunities, performance, safety, reliability, cost effectiveness and market potential.

  • Perform and direct preparation of layouts, drawings, specifications, and bills of material, costing, revenues and market research.

  • Perform engineering analysis to support the selection of parts, components, and materials that meet requirements.

  • Provide non-complex technical assistance for production and supply chain support.

  • Analyze and resolve issues reported to Engineering via verbal or written communication.

  • Prepare technical proposals, quotations, reports, and presentations.

  • Utilize analytical and mathematical approaches to calculate or model system performance and optimize designs.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Accredited Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field along with Internship experience or six (6) or more months of related work experience.

STANDOUT QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Accredited Bachelor's degree in Automotive, Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering.

  • Mechanical knowledge of automotive or heavy-vehicle equipment and related systems.

  • Experience with a high-level CAD system.

Pay Range:

$63,500.00 - $101,700.00

The above pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target pay for the position across all U.S. locations. Within this range, individual pay is determined by various factors, including the scope and responsibilities of the role, the candidate's experience, education and skills, as well as the equity of pay among team members in similar positions.
