Field Engineer- Local Projects

We are seeking a skilled Field Engineer for Contractor working on a multi-year lead service line replacement project at a water treatment plant. This role involves construction inspection for 'outside fence' projects located in Southeastern Wisconsin.

Responsibilities

• Observe construction personnel working on assigned areas of the construction site.
• Ensure construction work matches construction plans.
• Identify deficiencies in constructed structures.
• Review contract terms and conditions.
• Ensure compliance with construction timelines, costs, and materials as per contract terms and conditions.
• Provide technical guidance and training to junior staff and review their work.
• Document deficiencies, expected cost overruns, materials issues, and other construction-related risks.
• Prepare related reports such as monthly progress reports.
• Maintain a daily report of construction activities.
• Communicate construction issues to project leadership.
• Escalate issues to appropriate design staff for resolution.
• Communicate issue resolution to construction staff and close the loop with project leadership once issues are resolved.

• 2+ years of experience in construction observation, construction inspection, or construction management.
• Ability to read construction plans.
• Proficiency in MS Office.

• Experience on water treatment or wastewater plant projects is a plus.
• Experience working on piping replacement or repair projects for municipalities.

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $45.00/hr.
