Location & Schedule
This position is based out of the Lindsey-Flanigan Courthouse, located at 520 W. Colfax Ave., Denver, CO 80204. Regular work hours are Monday through Friday, from 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM. A flexible schedule may be considered after six months, based on performance and operational needs. Please note, this role requires travel to various locations throughout the day, depending on assignments and departmental priorities.
Who We Are & What Youll DoThe Department of General Services, Facilities Management Division (FM) is responsible for facility maintenance and management, including preventative maintenance, work order processing and reporting, vendor management and capital planning.
FM works behind the scenes to ensure the citys departments and agencies can function at their best. The FM Division staff is responsible for providing a full range of building services including plumbing, heating/cooling, electrical, painting, and maintenance of doors, windows, walls, ceilings, and floors, among other services. Through seven teams, FM is responsible for maintaining over 8,000,000 million square feet of buildings and structures in over 140 city owned and leased facilities, sites and structures.

The Facilities Management Division is seeking a skilled Plumber to join our team. In this role, you'll maintain and repair plumbing systems across various facilities in Denver, supporting multiple agencies and ensuring that public spaces remain functional and safe.
Were looking for someone with strong troubleshooting skills and a proactive approach to solving plumbing issues. The ideal candidate will work well both independently and as part of a team, helping maintain the critical infrastructure that supports the city.
Specifically, as a Plumber you will:
Perform preventative maintenance, maintenance and repair work on all plumbing systems and fixtures in accordance to agency or department standards and code requirements.
Installs or alters new or upgraded plumbing systems and fixtures for the purpose of construction, tenant finishing or remodeling according to diagram specifications and code requirements
Responds to plumbing service or trouble calls, troubleshoots and provides problem resolution.
Clears drain lines, drain snaking, cleaning, and jetting as needed for service calls.
Performs plumbing camera scope work regularly to determine infrastructure needs.
Maintains, tests, and installs devices for the prevention of backflow, back siphonage or cross connection
Maintains records and prepares daily activity reports.
Estimates materials, labor and equipment costs.
Assists in the maintenance and repair work in a variety of skilled trades areas
Participates in snow removal duties
Participates in the on-call rotation.
What Youll Bring
Our ideal candidate has some or all the following experience, skills, and characteristics:
Experience installing, diagnosing, and repairing pumps, sewer mains/lines, and lift stations.
Experience in drain line cleaning, snaking, and jetting.
Experience in sink and toilet repair
Backflow Certified
Computer skills, proficient with email and work order systems
Required Minimum Qualifications
Education requirement: Graduation from high school or the possession of a GED, HiSET or TASC Certificate.
Experience Requirement: None.
Education/Experience Equivalency: One (1) year of journey-level plumber experience maintaining, repairing, and constructing plumbing systems and equipment.
License/Certifications:
Requires a valid Driver's License at the time of application.
Requires a valid Journey Plumber's License issued by the State of Colorado at the time of application. Licensure in another state with reciprocity may be accepted in lieu of this requirement, provided that the applicant has Colorado licensure at completion of probation.
Licenses and certifications must be kept current as a condition of employment.
