Job Description:

We are hiring a Diesel and General Service Mechanic to start immediately. We are always closed on Sundays for family time. Service/maintain our Asphalt, Concrete and Grading Equipment and pickup trucks that support our construction crews across the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Perform preventive maintenance as well as electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical repairs
Troubleshoot issues with diesel and gasoline engines
Determine what parts and tools are necessary to make repairs
Complete shop paperwork and maintain equipment repair logs
Maintain accurate record keeping of all daily tasks
Maintain a clean and safe work area
Knowledgeable on super-duty pickup trucks, dump trucks, asphalt paving, concrete paving, and light grading equipment.
Repair or replace defective parts using hand tools and power tools
Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work
Disassemble and reassemble equipment
Interpret parts and service manuals in order to properly diagnose repairs needed as well as order appropriate parts
Work safely and follow all instructions related to company policies and regulatory agencies during the performance of duties
Perform visual inspections on equipment and provide written reports of conditions and deficiencies
Must be responsible and dependable

Requirements:

Experience in the Heavy Equipment Maintenance industry or an educational degree in Diesel related technical courses.
Basic equipment/maintenance knowledge.
Valid driver's license and a clean driving record
Valid Commercial Drivers License (a plus)
Field construction experience or related (a plus)
Detail-oriented
Good eye-hand coordination and dexterity
Excellent troubleshooting skills
Ability to Drive 10 Speed Manual Transmission (a plus)
U.S. Work Authorization
Pass Drug Screening and Physical Exam
Provide own hand tools (up to 1 -inch wrenches and sockets) and storage necessary to perform preventative maintenance on heavy equipment
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Self-motivated and capable of following directions and effectively working in a team environment
Ability to recognize and react to safety-related issues
Troubleshooting and/or diagnostic skills for Engine, Transmission/Drivetrain, Hydraulic, Electrical, A/C, On Board Computer, and Electronic Control Module (a plus)
Welding / Fabricating experience (a plus)
A good attitude is a MUST
