Key Responsibilities:
Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems in commercial and residential construction projects, including wiring, lighting, circuit breakers, control panels, and transformers.
Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and electrical codes to determine wiring layouts and ensure compliance with Alberta building and safety regulations.
Perform electrical rough-ins, terminations, and final installations for new construction, renovations, and service upgrades.
Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical issues, replacing or repairing faulty wiring, outlets, switches, and other components as necessary.
Plan and route electrical wiring through walls, ceilings, and underground conduits, ensuring proper load distribution and safety.
Work with contractors, project managers, and other trades to coordinate electrical work within construction timelines.
Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on electrical systems to ensure efficiency, safety, and compliance with industry standards.
Adhere to occupational health and safety regulations, ensuring all work are performed safely and efficiently.
Employment Requirements:
Completion of secondary school is required.
Trade certification for construction electricians is required.
Strong knowledge of electrical codes, safety standards, and troubleshooting skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced construction environment.
Valid drivers license and willingness to travel to job sites as needed.
