McMillen, Inc. is looking for a talented electrical and controls engineer with experience designing and leading complex projects to join our growing electrical engineering team. This position will support water resource projects, primarily at hydropower plants, dams, pump facilities, fish hatcheries, and water treatment facilities. Projects at these facilities require a wide range of electrical and controls expertise. Candidates with a variety of experience and specialties including power systems, protection and controls, industrial automation, and SCADA will be considered.
Responsibilities:
Design and analyze electrical systems
Create and modify drawings including one-line diagrams, three-line diagrams, wiring diagram, schematic diagrams, P&IDs, loop diagrams, communication diagrams, physical layout, and construction details
Write and edit electrical specifications and select equipment, electrical systems, and devices to meet project requirements.
Conduct QA/QC on the work of other Electrical Engineers, Electrical Coordinators or Technicians
Produced detailed design reports and engineering studies
Support Project Managers in developing project estimates and proposals
Work collaboratively with project teams including Project Managers and other disciplines
Conduct work sessions at the project site in conjunction with the project team
Mentor other engineers and support their engineering development
Preferred Experience:
Qualified candidates may possess any combination of electrical engineering experience on the following:
Hydroelectric power generation systems: generators, governors, excitation systems, generator circuit breakers, generator buses, medium and high voltage switchyards, and step-up transformers
Water control structures: dams, spillways, intakes and outlets, pipeline and penstocks
Protection and controls: protection relays, lockout relays, and remote terminal units
Industrial process automation systems: Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), motor control centers, instruments, sensor, and HMIs
Buildings: grounding and lighting
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering required
Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred
Minimum of 5 years related electrical engineering experience
Candidate must have excellent communication, written, and organizational skills
Strong leadership skills with the ability to work independent and as a lead or team member on a multi-discipline consulting team
The position will include an expectation of 10 - 15% travel for meetings with clients and vendors as well as project site visits.
Compensation Package:
Pay Range: $91,235 - $133,252 (DOE)
