Electrician - Plant Operations - FT Days

The Electrician works under the direction of the Plant Operations Supervisor. Performs and inspects preventive maintenance and repairs of electrical equipment and systems ensuring that all work is completed within industrial standards and codes.

Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Performs preventive and corrective maintenance on all assigned equipment and systems.
  • Repairs, cleans, tests and adjusts equipment based on manufacturer recommendations and/or hospital and industry standards to meet the performance required.
  • Troubleshoots, repairs and operates equipment under all service conditions.
  • Ensures that parts are ordered, received and installed quickly to minimize down-time.
  • Prepares and submits purchasing requisitions, work orders, job estimates and equipment replacement needs in a timely manner.
  • Maintains records of inspections, testing, repairs and preventive maintenance on assigned equipment.
  • Maintains complete and accurate records of activities related to equipment repair and maintenance.
  • Creates or modifies schematics, blueprints or records to keep them accurate and complete.
  • Adheres to applicable TJC and other regulatory standards related to equipment repair and maintenance.
  • Maintains equipment logs to ensure accurate inventory and other pertinent information.
  • Takes initiative and solves problems when appropriate, even when the problem is outside of his/her primary area of responsibility.
  • Demonstrates a calm and professional demeanor when dealing with difficult people or situations.
  • Serves as a resource to department management for planning and coordinating projects.
  • Demonstrates advanced skills in assigned craft and assists in the selection of equipment and supplies.
  • Interacts with contractors, outside design professionals and other staff to and during renovation projects to ensure that essential services are maintained.
  • Serves as the primary resource for the department and organization in the assigned field of expertise.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • A minimum of 5 years direct experience as a Journeyman or Master Electrician. Skills in plant operations, construction, electrical, plumbing or HVAC repair preferably in a hospital setting are necessary.
  • Highly organized with advanced knowledge of hand, power, diagnostic tools and building systems repair and maintenance.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • High School Diploma

  • Prefer Bachelor's Degree

REQUIRED LICENSE/REGISTRATION/CERTIFICATION:

  • Licensed as a Journeyman or Master Electrician in the State of Kansas
