The Facilities Mechanic will be responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and seeing to the repair of our mechanical, electrical, plumbing and HVAC systems. They will be responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and seeing to the repair of our forklift and delivery vehicle fleet. They will work with the warehouse supervisor to inspect, maintain, and see to the repair of warehousing equipment. The successful candidate must be dependable, self-motivated, detail-oriented, and have the ability to see what needs to be done with little direct supervision. Reports to: Operations Manager Minimum Qualifications: This job requires the ability to stand, walk, sit, use of hands, arms to reach, climbing and balance, stooping, kneeling, crouching, talking and hearing; move up to 100lbs; and have clear, color vision. In addition, the following basic abilities are required + Standing: Remains in standing position to perform various functions of the job. + Climbing: ascending and descending ladders + Crouching: Bending the body downward or forward by bending leg and spine. + Handling: Seizes, helps, or works with hands. + Lifting: Raises or lowers tools and piping. + Reaching: Extends hands and arms in any direction. + Vision: visual acuity to be thorough and accurate in the work assigned. + Stooping: Bends body downward and forward by bending at knees or waist. + Talking: Communicating by phone and in person. + Walking and moving about on foot Preferred Qualifications: Proficiency in all trades including electrical, plumbing, mechanical, carpentry, auto mechanics, forklift mechanics, painting, flooring, and cabinetry Working Conditions: Warehouse environment and outdoor conditions including sometimes extreme hot/cold temperatures Supervisory Responsibilities: No Essential Job Functions: + Regularly monitor, examine and check the operation of all forklifts and vehicles and troubleshoot any electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and/or hydraulic issues. + Overall fleet management: minor repair and maintenance/cleaning of outgoing and incoming trucks. + Perform preventative maintenance on all machinery and equipment utilizing hand or power tools and testing equipment, if applicable. + Perform building maintenance to include interior/exterior painting, minor carpentry, plumbing, electrical, lighting (interior/exterior), floor repair, pothole repair, and other assorted repairs and inspections in a timely manner. + Monitor, coordinate, and inspect the work of contractors engaged in the installing, maintaining, repairing, and servicing of building mechanical systems, such as emergency generator, electrical, fire suppression systems, plumbing, landscaping, janitorial, HVAC, and fire and security alarms. + Document all preventative, predictive and/or maintenance measures taken, clearly and in full detail, for historical and future maintenance purposes. + Identify replacement parts and research for part prices/availability, manufacturer's specifications, warranty status + Clean or lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, or other parts of machinery as necessary + Repair or replace defective machinery or parts + Operate forklift + Ensure all safety equipment is present and in proper working order + Follow all company safety practices and rules + Document work performed and observe all safety protocols + General interior maintenance: hang pictures, repair office furniture systems, repair doors, flooring, walls, railings, and other items/places that need maintenance attention. + Move office furniture, machinery, equipment, and other materials. + Complete other various duties related to painting, carpentry, flooring, cabinetry, and related tasks + Ensure that work is performed efficiently with a minimum amount of disruption and inconvenience. + Complete Hazard Assessments as necessary + Help in the warehouse as requested and/or needed + Provide support for property activities, including set up and take down for special events + Perform all necessary assigned work to maintain a safe, clean and unobstructed work environment for employees, customers, and vendors CED is an Equal Opportunity Employer - Disability | Veteran Compensation Range: The compensation range for this position is $30 to $35 hourly.
