The Senior Machine Builder is responsible for the assembly, plumbing, and mechanical integration of complex machinery and custom equipment. This role requires advanced technical skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or lead small teams. The Senior Machine Builder ensures that equipment is assembled to meet high-quality standards and customer specifications, while continuously driving improvements in processes and performance.

Key Responsibilities:

Assemble, plumb, and test a wide variety of mechanical and electromechanical systems, including custom and standard machinery, using blueprints, schematics, and assembly instructions.

Perform advanced mechanical, electrical, and fluid system integration with precision and accuracy.

Read and interpret complex engineering drawings, diagrams, and work instructions to ensure correct assembly and fitment of components.

Identify and resolve assembly issues, suggesting improvements or modifications to designs or processes when needed.

Use a variety of hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments to complete builds to specification.

Ensure all builds meet safety, quality, and performance standards by following documented procedures and guidelines.

Redline and update technical drawings or documentation based on assembly feedback and process changes.

Conduct in-process and final quality checks to verify assemblies function as required.

Lead or mentor less experienced builders and collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, quality, and production.

Maintain a clean and organized work environment in accordance with 5S and safety standards.

Accurately record labor hours and assembly data in ERP systems (e.g., SAP).

Support continuous improvement initiatives by actively participating in root cause analysis, lean practices, and process optimization efforts.

Occasionally assist with internal plumbing or mechanical facility tasks, as needed.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or certification in mechanical or electrical assembly preferred.

3+ years of experience in machine building, mechanical assembly, or related field, preferably in a manufacturing environment.

Strong mechanical aptitude with knowledge of plumbing techniques (e.g., PVC solvent welding, thread taping).

Ability to work from complex blueprints, schematics, and assembly documentation.

Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP experience is a plus).

Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong communication skills.

Salary range:

$46,600.00 - $74,600.00
