Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

Execute the design, analysis, and evaluation of assigned projects for advanced military products

Execute work and support team with sound engineering principles

Has in-depth knowledge of best practices and how own area and integrates with others

Has working knowledge of competition and the factors that differentiate in the market

Adhere to business standards, practices, procedures, and product requirements

Leverage prior mechanical design experience and broaden knowledge of one's own technical discipline to meet product deliverables within schedule and budget constraints

Demonstrate systems-thinking mentality to understand how work of one's team integrates with others to achieve product requirements

Exhibit autonomy to make decisions of moderately complex problems in area of expertise

Function as a resource for colleagues with less experience - may lead small projects with moderate risks and resource requirements

Uses technical experience and expertise for data analysis to support recommendations

This role requires sound interpersonal skills to develop strong internal and external customer relationships by serving as an interface point within GE

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or aeronautical engineering from an accredited university

Minimum of 5 years of experience in a mechanical design or mechanical analysis engineering position

Due to the nature of the duties of this position, this role requires the individual to obtain and maintain US Government Security Clearance; prerequisite for a security clearance is U.S. citizenship.

Desired Characteristics

Master's degree in mechanical engineering or aeronautical engineering from an accredited university

Highly motivated, passionate about the NGP mission, and with strong communication skills

Demonstrated ability to analyze and solve technical challenges with sound reasoning, project planning, execution, and documentation

Experience with structural component design and system analysis

Experience with manufacturing processes

Demonstrated ability to lead programs, projects, and teams

Holding an existing US Government Security Clearance
