Mechanical Engineer

Job duties:

Support, Management, and Expansion:

Provide remote support to engineers across multiple locations and time zones, addressing technical challenges and ensuring operational consistency.

Oversee the assembly and expansion of the autonomous fleet, including providing remote guidance to engineers at other locations.

Assist in setting up new locations, including sourcing, purchasing, and configuring necessary equipment.

Manage company web-based databases for inventory tracking and version control of autonomous vehicles.

Train team members in the use of newly integrated tools and technologies, fostering knowledge sharing and efficiency across the team.

Service Autonomous Vehicles:

Perform diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on autonomous vehicles, including consultations for teams at remote sites.

Service and repair built-in vehicle components, such as sensors, network equipment, and computing systems.

Work with experimental mechanical and electronic modules, including installing, modifying, and testing new systems.

Conduct repairs on mechanical and electrical components at the element level, including SMD and BGA soldering.

Fabricate and maintain vehicle wiring systems to ensure operational integrity.

Rapidly adapt to experimental systems and tools, ensuring effective integration into workflows and supporting team operations.

Required Skills and Experience:

At least 10 years of experience working as a Mechanical Engineer or similar;

At least 10 years working with electronics repairing including SMD and BGA soldering.

At least 3 years working with car repairing;

Expertise in diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical systems of vehicles, proficiency in electrical diagnostics, repairs, and schematic reading.

Experience working with different operating systems, including Linux, iOS, and Windows, skills in configuring and maintaining network equipment.

Ability to read and interpret both electrical and mechanical schematics and blueprints, familiarity with working on 3D models for design and prototyping tasks, assembling of prototypes using 3D models only.

Hands-on experience with manual, electrical, and hydraulic crimping tools, as well as pneumatic tools, capability to use precision measurement tools for diagnostics and fabrication.

Proven ability to quickly learn and integrate new mechanical and electronic systems, coupled with the capability to train others in their use.

Demonstrating problem-solving ability in dynamic, fast-paced environments.

Strong collaboration skills for working with cross-functional teams in international settings.
