Stantecs New England Transportation group is looking for a Senior Transportation Engineer in Portland, ME!
Stantecs New England Transportation group has an immediate need for a talented, team focused Transportation Engineer with a minimum of 10 years of experience in roadway/highway design and pedestrian/bicycle facility design. Project management experience is a plus and more experienced individuals are encouraged to apply as there is flexibility in this position. This position is for an individual looking to challenge themselves on a variety of transportation projects in the region. The position is located in our Portland, Maine office with the ability for a hybrid work arrangement.
We are looking for a Civil/Transportation Engineer who has a positive attitude, is a fast learner, and enjoys working in a team environment. The successful candidates will join a growing team of transportation professionals and play a lead role in the highway design components of large and small roadway, multimodal and bridge projects throughout Maine and New England. This position is designed as a pathway toward a project manager role.
Your Key Responsibilities
+ Design roadways in accordance with AASHTO and MaineDOT specifications and CADD Standards using Microstation/InRoads and OpenRoads.
+ Develop and oversee design plans and calculations, technical specifications, and construction cost estimates.
+ Prepare engineering reports and technical studies such as design memos, feasibility studies, and concept design reports.
+ Collaborate with team members, other disciplines and offices, and sub-consultants.
+ Perform field investigations and construction phase services support.
+ Interact with and present project designs to clients, agencies, and the public.
+ Thorough understanding of project tasks within the overall project schedule, budgeting and available resources.
+ Provide guidance to mentor team members with a positive growth-oriented perspective.
