CTG's long-standing Fortune 500 client of over 15 years has a W2 contract assignment for a Mechanical Engineer III. Type: Contract Job Title: Mechanical Engineer III Location: Wilmington, NC Candidates must be able to commute and work onsite in Wilmington, NC Pay Rate: Based on experience Work Hours: M-F 8am-5pm Education: BS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent Description The Mechanical Engineer III will provide hands-on mechanical engineering support during the construction, installation, debug, and startup of production and automated equipment systems at domestic and international manufacturing sites. This role will focus on project engineering responsibilities related to equipment installation, efficiency improvements, and system integration. The majority of time will be spent on the manufacturing floor, working directly with equipment and teams to ensure successful project execution. Requirements Provide mechanical discipline support for equipment installation and startup Supervise and direct internal and contract techs, maintenance, and trades during installation and conversion activities Develop and manage project plans and timelines with a focus on safety, IP protection, and quality Identify and resolve safety risks and lead incident reporting and investigation Understand and analyze process and equipment functions Improve installation efficiency and equipment design Re-design components to reduce cost and solve design or installation issues Interface with system integrators and machine builders to ensure successful equipment delivery and integration Perform hands-on troubleshooting and lead corrective actions Train technical staff and trades on installation procedures Review and update installation documentation and drawing packages Procure and expedite materials for new and modified equipment Assess and verify the usability of existing equipment for new installations Required Qualifications Education BS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent Minimum 3+ years of manufacturing experience working with production equipment Qualifications Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience using tools, instruments, and alignment devices Ability to manage multiple priorities in a team environment with a focus on safety Understanding of process variables such as flow, temperature, pressure, and level Experience interpreting and modifying P&IDs, mechanical schematics, and drawing packages Knowledge of mechanical drive trains, and pneumatic/electrical actuators Proficient in process piping system design Effective communicator, self-starter, and results-oriented team player Ability to collaborate across disciplines (IT, Process, Mechanical) to meet system requirements Additional Information No third party resumes will be accepted Drug testing and/or other employment-related inquiries may be conducted CTG will consider for employment-qualified applicants with criminal histories in a manner consistent with the requirements of all applicable local, state, and federal laws All interested individuals MUST be able to work on a W2 Tax basis (no C2C or third party vendors) CTG is an Equal Employment Opportunity employer CTG is an E-Verify Company To be considered for this opportunity, please apply directly through our website or email your Word version resume and salary expectations to ....
