Plant Foreman

We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Aggregate Crushing Foreman to oversee portable crushing operations across multiple sand and gravel surface mining sites. This role blends team leadership, equipment operation, and site coordination. The Aggregate Crushing Foreman is responsible for safely managing mobile crushing spreads, ensuring production targets are met, and mentoring a small crew. This is a field-based role requiring regular travel to various job sites and the ability to lead by example in a fast-paced outdoor work environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead a portable crushing crew of 2-3 team members across multiple active sites
• Monitor and optimize production output, material quality, and equipment efficiency
• Operate and perform routine maintenance on crushing, screening, and stacking equipment
• Coordinate daily tasks with site supervisors and project managers
• Ensure compliance with MSHA, environmental, and company safety policies
• Track inventory of materials and communicate needs for wear parts or equipment repairs
• Train and mentor crew members in proper techniques and safety protocols
• Relocate crushing spread to various sites based on production needs
• Complete daily production and inspection reports accurately and on time
• Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical or process issues quickly to minimize downtime

Qualifications

Required:

• 3+ years of experience in aggregate or surface mining operations
• Proven knowledge of crushing, screening, and material handling systems
• Strong mechanical aptitude and familiarity with heavy equipment
• Ability to lead, mentor, and hold team members accountable
• Willingness to travel regularly and work outdoors in varying conditions
• Valid driver's license (CDL preferred or ability to obtain)

Preferred:

• Prior supervisory or lead experience in aggregate or portable plant operations
• MSHA certification or ability to complete MSHA Part 46/48 training
• Working knowledge of maintenance best practices for crushing equipment
• Strong communication and organizational skills
