These experienced professionals provide administrative expertise,facilities management, natural and cultural resource planning, and a broad arrayof other professional skills that support the National Park Service through theExperienced Services Program (ESP).

The enrollment relationship between NEW Solutions and the Enrollee isan ?at-will? relationship. Qualifications:

Minimum of 5 year(s) of experience in project crew environment operating heavyequipment OR HS/GED Degree

Class A CDL licenseDuties:

The primary purpose of this position is to operate gasoline or diesel-poweredengineering and construction heavy equipment to assist Kalaupapa NationalHistorical Park with cargo, utility, road, and repair needs.

Driving and operating a digger derrick truck to transport, remove, andinstall utility poles and use the machine's boom to position utility workers forelectrical line installation and repair. 40%Operating 7.5 ton forklift to unload and load cargo from the park's annualbarge service. 20%Use backhoe loader to excavate and trench for various utilities and roadrepair projects. 20%Operate Bomag-style roller for compacting aggregate road surfacingmaterial. 10%Perform miscellaneous tasks associated with the trade of commercial driver /heavy equipment operator. 5%Comply with archeological monitoring requirements for most projectsinvolving excavation 5%

Other:Required Certifications: Attendance at heavy equipment operator safetytraining and an outstanding safety record with commitment to pre-trip inspectionand maintenance for all equipment.Required Safety Gear: Enrollee is required to wear all applicable PersonalProtective Equipment (PPE) associated with the job such as coveralls, gloves,hard hat, steel-toed shoes and safety goggles/glasses. PPE will be provided atno cost and training will be provided for it.Physical requirements: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enableindividuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of thisposition. Must be able to stand for long periods of time (up to 4 hours). Mustbe able to walk up to mile to project site locations at high elevations. Mustbe able to lift up to 50 pounds without assistance. Enrollee will be workingoutside operating heavy equipment in many weather conditions.
