Position Overview:
As a Project Estimator II, you will play a key role in leading and supporting estimating efforts across a variety of project types. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented, experienced construction professional who can produce full estimates, mentor junior staff, and collaborate cross-functionally with project teams. You'll contribute to preconstruction planning and ensure accurate, competitive pricing aligned with company goals. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong construction knowledge, critical thinking, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
Perform and lead pricing efforts on projects ranging from conceptual through GMP/hard bid with limited oversight
Produce complete estimates using unit pricing, CSI divisions, and an understanding of General Requirements, General Conditions, and MEP systems
Create and update profitability plans aligned with project and company goal
Mentor and develop Junior Estimators through training, delegation, and accountability
Lead estimating efforts by assigning roles, reviewing work, and ensuring deliverable quality
Participate in buyout and scope development; maintain subcontractor relationships
Ensure compliance with estimating processes, identify improvements, and support tech adoption
Leverage field experience and construction knowledge to guide planning and decision-making
Maintain positive working relationships with internal stakeholders and cross-functional teams
Communicate clearly and professionally with subcontractors and external partners
Other duties as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications
Associate or bachelor's degree in construction management, Engineering, or related field
Minimum 6 years of experience in estimating within commercial construction
Proficiency with estimating tools and technologies
Strong understanding of CSI Divisions, MEP systems, General Conditions, and construction sequencing
Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills
Familiarity with preconstruction planning and buyout processes
Knowledge of industry-standard estimating and project management platforms
