SHOP FOREMANDefinition:Primarily responsible for overseeing the management, maintenance, and organization of construction equipment, tools, and company vehicles. Coordinates and directs general labor activities within the shop, ensures that all tools and equipment are properly maintained, stored, and readily available for construction projects. Manages inventory, schedules regular maintenance and repairs, enforces safety protocols, and works closely with field teams.Supervision:Receives supervision from higher level supervisory staff.Duties - may include, but are not limited to, the following:1.Transports vehicles and equipment to various construction project locations.2.Operates, maintains, and repairs heavy equipment.3.Delivers supplies and materials to various construction project locations.4.Tool pick-up, transport, and storage.5.Performs welding as required.6.Maintenance and repair of company vehicles.7.Perform general labor/helper responsibilities such as on construction sites as needed.8.Operation of two-cycle and four-cycle equipment such as lawn movers (riding and push), weed eaters and blowers.9.Perform general clean up in shop, warehouse, shop yards, etc.10.Perform general office maintenance and repairs.11.Follow oral instructions.12.Perform related duties and responsibilities as required.Qualifications:Basic Knowledge of: principles, procedures and terminology used in the construction trade; tools and materials used in carpentry; methods and procedures used in building construction; materials and equipment used in carpentry trades; occupational hazards and standard safety practices. Auto, 2 and 4 stroke equipment and heavy equipment repair.Ability to:determine when to ask for help; take measurements; correctly use and apply some basic carpentry skills; understand and follow oral and written instructions; maintain physical condition appropriate to the performance of assigned duties and responsibilities (see Physical Conditions below); maintain effective audio-visual discrimination and perception for making observations, communicating with others, reading, and writing, and operating assigned equipment and vehicles.Education, Experience, Training, Licenses, and Certificates:***Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying.***Education:High school diploma or GED equivalent.**Experience: Minimum of six mo**
