Introduction
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation, Division of System Development, Southeast Region is seeking a Transportation Specialist Supervisor for the Survey/Plat/Land Management Unit. This position is headquartered in Downtown Waukesha, WI.
This position offers a hybridized work schedule. The position will be headquartered at and required to work from the Waukesha State Office Building in Waukesha, WI at least 2 days per week. All employees working a hybrid work schedule are generally expected to telework from within the State of Wisconsin. This topic will be discussed more at the time of the interview.

Position Summary
This is a Survey and Plat Unit Supervisor position in the Southeast (SE) Region. This unit is responsible for the region's survey and plats work. This position is responsible for technical oversight; participation in and/or approve project decisions; and coordinate with other regional supervisors to maintain a working knowledge of current activities, issues and decisions related to the improvement program. This position performs administrative and supervisory functions in the field of engineering.
This position's primary role is the achieve program objectives by interpreting and applying policy within its programmatic area and directly supervising a staff of professional and technical positions. This includes coordinating staff and resources to meet program objectives; providing training and developmental opportunities to staff; applying technical expertise in decision-making; developing and implementing policy; and prioritizing, assigning and monitoring work to meet project requirements and deadlines. Additionally, this position requires effective communication with internal and external partners, other agencies, consultants and contractors.
Salary Information
This position is in schedule-range (81-30) with an annual salary of $89,440-$94,640, plus excellent benefits. A twelve month probationary period is required. Pay for current state employees will be set in accordance with the Wisconsin State Compensation Plan.

Experience mentoring, leading, and advising others to accomplish work objectives
Experience in policy development and implementation
Experience communicating (including technical information) to varied customers or groups (i.e. management, property and business owners, employees, public officials, vendors, contractors, other personnel, etc.)
