This individual will be primarily responsible for setup and completion of drilling variable sized underground bore holes and pulling back required conduit/pipe. As a Directional Driller/Equipment Operator, you are responsible for running a variety of directional drilling equipment; Directional Drill, (Vermeer and/or Ditch Witch) Vac. Truck, Mud Truck, Excavator, Forklift, Dump truck, Locator, along with others not listed.** **PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Locate for Horizontal Directional Drill for installation of underground conduit and fiber optic cable. Ensure safety of the public and other utilities underground facilities. Operate Horizontal Directional Drill. Assist in potholing and restoration.. Assist with setting hand holes and completing tie-ins. Ability to read and comprehend all utility locates. Set equipment up including the drill, water tanks and grounding the machine. Ability to properly formulate and mix drilling mud for the site conditions. Ability to perform proper reaming and pull back methods for existing conditions. Oversee laborers and/or crew members work and monitor time usage. Ability to properly clean and maintain the equipment, check fluid levels, and conduct a visual inspection of vehicle/equipment to assure your vehicle/equipment is performing at optimum safety, perform the required pre-trip, post trip inspections and the required reports, perform needed maintenance including winterizing equipment. Communicates with Supervisor daily to turn in required reports (i.e. Bore log, vehicle maintenance reports, crew time logs etc.) Follows specifications for the job and company policies. Complies with safety procedures on and off the project site. Strive for optimal production while working safely and performing quality work.** **SKILL REQUIREMENTS Utah Drivers License DOT Health Card Class A CDL License - Preferred Basic Math Skills Basic computer skills, to develop and maintain bore logs. ALL employees must pass a background check.
