CNC Mill Operator (2nd Shift)

CNC Mill Operator Job Description The CNC Lathe Operator will be responsible for operating and maintaining CNC single turret lathes to produce high-quality parts according to blueprint specifications. This role demands strong attention to detail, the ability to read and interpret drawings, and an understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), all while ensuring safety and precision in a manufacturing environment. Responsibilities Operate single turret CNC Mill Machines with Live Tooling capabilities. Inspect parts using precision measuring tools such as micrometers, pin gages, bore gages, and plug gages. Manually deburr parts during the machining process. Make offsets to tooling under Fanuc controls. Identify and resolve machining issues such as tool wear to maintain required dimensions. Accurately record production data, including quantities and quality inspections. Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized workspace. Essential Skills Ability to read and interpret blueprints. Understanding of GD&T. Familiarity with CNC lathes and measuring equipment. Strong focus on accuracy and quality. Strong communication skills. Ability to hold tolerances as tight as +/-.0002. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience operating CNC machines. Knowledge of Fanuc controls. Work Environment The facility is air-conditioned, well-lit, temperature-controlled, and very clean, housing between 60-70 CNC machines. Work hours are Monday through Friday from 2 pm to 10:30 pm, with overtime available. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Buffalo Grove, Illinois Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $30.00/hr.
