Position Summary
ing to the Technical Director, this seasonal position is responsible for the construction, load-in, maintenance, and strike of scenic elements required for theatrical productions.
Responsibilities
Woodworking
Metalworking, (MIG welding capability a plus)
Fabrication and assembly of scenic elements
Installation, repair and strike of scenery
May occasionally be asked to be part of an event or production's run crew, w applicable
Other reasonable duties as assigned
Skills and Competencies
1-3 years experience with theatrical carpentry and construction
Knowledge of theatrical rigging
Ability to read hand-drafted and CAD/ VWX illustrated technical drawings
Willingness to ad to deadlines
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Ability to follow scene shop safety protocols per industry safety standards
Comfortable working at heights, including loading weight from a fly loft
Must befortable working in bucket and scissor lifts
Ability to climb and work from ladders
Ability to lift 20+ pounds regularly and 50+ pounds occasionally
Compensation
This is a seasonal, nonexempt position earning $19.25 - $20.25 per hour for 30-40 hours per week for the duration of the engagement, in addition to 401k, Medical and Vision insurance plans, and paid sick time and three (3) floating holidays.
