Senior Estimator

A leading construction firm is seeking a highly experienced Senior Estimator to join its Houston -based team. This role requires minimal supervision and a deep understanding of estimating practices within the heavy civil construction sector. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in concrete paving, earthworks, underground utilities, and public/private infrastructure projects. Key Responsibilities: Analyze bid opportunities and client requests; prepare project summaries for team review. Review project plans/specs and coordinate with estimating team to ensure scope completeness. Develop general conditions, schedules, scopes of work, and site logistics. Perform quantity take-offs and pricing; maintain digital records of estimates. Support pricing development from conceptual through final construction stages. Participate in contract and scope reviews, subcontractor evaluations, and change order pricing. Review and finalize estimates prior to submission; present to executive leadership. Assist with job cost monitoring and monthly revenue/cost forecasting. Conduct site visits as needed to support estimating accuracy. Collaborate with project managers and field teams to resolve estimating-related issues. Maintain technical knowledge through continued education and industry engagement. Qualifications: Proven experience in heavy civil construction estimating (DOT, municipal, utilities, concrete, etc.). Proficient in Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, Adobe, and HCSS (HeavyBid). Familiarity with AutoCAD, Agtek, and MicroStation is a plus. Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to manage deadlines and work independently in a fast-paced environment. Commitment to safety and compliance with OSHA standards.
