un Small Drywall Finishing Work - Anton Kunji Raygosa, Jr. - SCAM ALERT (Boise - Maple Grove and Overland) image 1 of 9 compensation: Bid wanted Let me my story of recently dealing with a scammer named Anton Kunji Raygosa, Jr. in hopes that it might help someone else if he responds to a gig/job they have posted. It all started on Sunday. I was feeling a little anxious about a kitchen remodel I am balls deep in, because, you know, one needs a kitchen to eat and all. I thought I would post a Craigslist gig ad to hire someone to do some drywall work to speed things along. Little did I know that at the same time I was posting the ad, Anton was also searching the ads for his next victim. The ad had been posted for about 30 seconds when Anton Kunji Raygosa, Jr. texted and wanted to come bid the job. When he arrived (late btw), he immediately started to tear me down and build me up - tell me how bad some of the work I had done was and how good some of the other work was. That was an odd sales approach as I've watched To Catch A Predator and I thought it was very similar to the grooming tactics used by pedafiles. That should have been my first red . He spent quite a lot of time telling me how in demand he was around the valley and how many, many home builders were stealing him away from other home builders. So in demand that he was looking at a Craigslist gig job and could start the next day, I thought. That should have been my second red . He then dedicated an inordinate amount of time telling me how honest he was. He even went as far as writing up the contract, texting it to me (asking me repeatedly if I received it), emailing it to me and ensuring I received it. Tactics I am sure fellow inmates taught him. He then wrapped it all up with a story about how he didn't get paid one time so he went and tore up the guys driveway with a backhoe. He really thought the destruction of someone else's property story was just hilarious. Red number 3. Next he told me he was from Kuna and he had a daughter that graduated this year. He talked about her as a daddy's girl, which I took to mean it's a complicated relationship and I assumed he probably beats on her mom. I'd say that is more of a creepy than a red , but a nonetheless. He then did some name-dropping claiming to be tight friends with Enrique, the owner of Enriques Restaurant in Kuna. I don't believe that one - I've eaten there since it was El Galo Giro and Enrique is an outstanding guy. It would just be embarrassing to be so tight with a thief. He did the old tactic of starting high and then coming down quite a bit. I know better than to trust someone like that. That one is on me. At the end of the bid he threw in a 50% deposit. That's where he got me. That. Is. Where. He. Got. Me. But it gets better. The next morning he calls me and tells me he is at Winco and his card has declined and he wants me to send him another $80. Then he changes the story saying he is at Lowes buying supplies for the job. I don't do it. Again, so in-demand throughout the valley that he doesn't have $80 to buy groceries or supplies or whatever the truth really was. He does text me later that day to let me know he is running behind but will have someone' - an assassin I assume - at my house by 5. No one shows up and he isn't man enough to ever answer a phone call again. I realize I have been scammed and I realize I should have known better . But now I am invested and I have questions. So many questions. I want to know when he decided stealing from people who work hard for their money was an okay thing to do. Spoiler alert: It's not. I want to know if he understands the importance of trust. Once you lose trust, it is almost impossible to earn back. I want to know if he respects the significance of a good family name. A family name people can count on - one people can trust without question, one people know can be relied one when needed, a family people know have integrity no matter the situation. That is what is important. I want to know if he understands he has soured his family name - which I assume was once a good name. I also dug into his background a little because if someone is going to come into my home and outright steal from me, I am interested in knowing what kind of person he is. It turns out, he has a colorful criminal history. That only made me even more curious. When did things go south for this little guy? What was the one decision or one event in his life that was the point of no return? At the end of the day, are his parents proud of him? Are his grandparents proud? His children? Is he proud of himself? I grew up in absolute poverty - eat out of the garbage poverty. I started working on a farm when I was 12. At age 14 I worked in a grocery store full-time. My boss there taught me the power always working - If you've got time to lean, you've got time to clean. I worked my rear off to get out of that poverty - at one point working 4 jobs, going to school, and raising 4 children - not once did I think stealing from someone else was acceptable. All of this to say I would not trust Anton Kunji Raygosa, Jr. to do any work in my home and I certainly would not give him any money to do any work. I was scammed and I knew better. I want to think badly of him, but mostly I just feel really, really sorry for him. It must be such a sad, anxiety filled life to have to prowl through Craigslist ads to try to identify someone to steal from. I hope his life improves. I hope he gets on the right side of the law. I hope he learns the value of working hard and earning an honest living. I hope he comes to understand how disgusting the entitlement of stealing from someone else is. I hope he works to make it right - I'm sure I am not the first, and won't be the last - person he steals from. Although I only just met him once and spoke to him for about 30 minutes, I know he is better than that. He just needs to realize that too. In the meantime, I hope no one else is played a fool like I was. I want to protect as many people as possible from having their property or money stolen from them by Anton. His last known address is 1300 N Cabrillo Ave in Kuna and I am mailing letters to every one of his neighbors sharing my experience. Noone else should have anything stolen by him, especially those around him. Feel free to contact me if Anton has also stolen from you at StopAntonFromStealing -at-g-m-a-i-l post id: ... [ ]
