Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED
Eight (8) years of related experience
Four (4) years of verifiable supervisory experience.
Must have own transportation to report to other College locations as assigned.
Must be forklift certified within one (1) year of employment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Trade schooling or 2-year degree preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise the general maintenance and repair of campus facilities. This includes, but is not limited to, roofs, windows, parking lots, sidewalks, painting, doors, flooring, fencing, and other general maintenance. Considered essential personnel during emergencies.
Answers requests via the work order manager application. Coordinates work with other departments and subcontractors. Works with, and advises Planning team on large projects to include new building drawings. Assigns work orders to appropriate staff.
Supervises staff and contractors that maintain, and repair vehicles, golf carts, lawn equipment and other small engines.
Maintains inventory of supplies, tools, and parts, requesting additional items as necessary per job project. Provide quotes and estimates for future projects as needed. Ensures department purchases are within budget guidelines.
Drive College vehicles and operates golf carts and light trucks to retrieve/return supplies, equipment, tools, etc.
Attends staff meetings to exchange information. Attends professional seminars and/or conferences to improve professional skills and maintain licenses/certifications.
Gathers, verifies, and maintains information to support periodic and special reports documenting activities and events for assigned area.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
Ability to effectively lead a team of skilled maintenance specialists.
Ability to multi-task and have a high level of organizational skills
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
Required to lift between 20 to 50 pounds on a recurring basis and 50 to 100 pounds on an occasional basis
Will work indoors and outdoors and exposed to associated temperatures
Computer knowledge to be able to view other personnel related information (i.e. paycheck, W-2, etc.)
