Summary: To complete the assembly of complex automated units composed of many parts on large and complicated equipment.
Machine Builder Responsibilities:
Assemble mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and subassemblies.
Assemble equipment from drawings, specifications, blueprints, and schematics.
Responsible for testing and inspecting (to print specs) the product before shipment. Able to identify and correct any problems during the testing stage of the equipment.
Basic machine shop skills (drill press, grinder, etc.).
Machining skills are a plus.
Machine Builder Requirements:
Two-year vocational degree in a related field.
2+ years of experience in assembling automated equipment from prints.
Good mechanical aptitude and basic understanding of at least one of the following areas: mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic subassemblies.
Must be self-motivated and very detail-oriented. Must have a positive attitude and be able to work closely in a team environment.
Strong mechanical aptitude.
Ability to read prints.
Read the tape measure.
